This Privacy Policy describes how "Countdown Banner JP" (hereinafter referred to as "the App") handles information relating to you (the Merchant) and the visitors to your store.
The App is designed to protect privacy, act in good faith, and in the best interests of merchants and buyers in compliance with the Shopify Partner Program Agreement.
1. Types of Information Collected
The App collects and uses the following information to provide and improve our services:
A. Store Information (Obtained through the Shopify API)
- Store name, email address, domain name, shop timezone, and Shopify admin language settings.
- This information is used for authentication during app installation and to provide customer support.
B. Settings Data
- Configuration details for the countdown banners created within the App (timer settings, design preferences, destination URLs, etc.).
- This data is stored in Shopify Metafields or our secure database.
C. Analytics and Usage Data
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics within the App's admin interface to understand usage patterns and improve the user experience. The data collected is aggregated and anonymized, and does not identify individuals.
- Technical Data: Server logs (e.g., IP address, browser type) are used solely for preventing unauthorized access and for debugging purposes.
D. Information NOT Collected
- Customer Personal Information: The App does not collect or store any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) of your store's customers, such as names, physical addresses, email addresses, or credit card numbers.
2. Use of Information
The information collected is used only for the following purposes:
- To provide core app functionality (displaying banners and managing timers).
- To authenticate users and save configuration settings.
- To respond to user inquiries and provide support.
- To improve app features and fix technical issues.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
- Session Token Authentication: The App uses Shopify-recommended session token authentication. It is designed to operate securely without relying on third-party cookies, ensuring it works properly in incognito modes and other privacy-restricted environments.
- Tracking Limits: The App does not track store visitors (buyers) across multiple websites.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
- Billing Information: All billing is handled through the Shopify Billing API (managed by Shopify). We do not directly obtain or store credit card information.
- Third-Party Disclosure: We do not share personal information with third parties without consent, except as required by law or to facilitate integration with the Shopify platform essential for store operations.
5. Data Protection and Deletion
- Retention Period: We retain settings data as long as the App is installed on your store.
- Automatic Deletion (Upon Uninstallation): When the App is uninstalled, a data deletion process for store-related information will be initiated within 48 hours, in accordance with Shopify's regulations.
- Compliance: The App complies with Shopify’s mandatory webhooks (Customer Data Request, Customer Data Redact, and Shop Redact) to ensure compliance with legal requirements such as the GDPR.
